Construction

Construction Induction Card

Construction Induction (White Card)

A reminder that WorkSafe Victoria does not recognise online training for the purpose of Issuing a construction induction white card. To obtain a WorkSafe Victoria issued card you must attend a course in person delivered by a registered training organisation (RTO) authorised to deliver construction Induction training in Victoria by WorkSafe.

The course is aimed at all workers carrying out construction work, including: self-employed persons, labourers, apprentices, trades-persons, supervisors and project managers. Students will learn the basic principles of health and safety in the construction industry as well as information about preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management and workers compensation.

The content of the course covers:

  • An explanation of WOHS legislative requirements
  • The identification of construction hazards and control measures
  • OHS communication and reporting processes
  • OHS incident response procedures.

WorkSafe requires a valid form of photo I.D. and AST will not be able to train if student does not provide to the trainer at start of course on the day. The proof of Identity for Construction Induction Card for must be a photo ID. Student still be charged if student does not start due to no ID. Students MUST be 15 years old or older.

First Aid and CPR

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (Release 1)

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a nationally accredited unit providing participants with the qualification to be a First Aid representative in many workplaces and other required situations. This is ideal for people training for the first time or after a period away from regular training.
Students must undertake pre-work before the course via online assessment or written handbook.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a nationally accredited unit providing participants with the qualification to be a First Aid representative in many workplaces and other required situations. Evidence of CPR or First aid training in the last 12 months may be required.

Provide Emergency First Aid Response in Education & Care Setting

8 hour course (split over two evenings)

Delivery mode: Face to Face

This unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
Students must undertake pre-work before the course via online assessment or written handbook.

Hospitality

Use hygienic practices for food safety

Delivery mode: Face to Face

This course is the entry-level for basic food hygiene procedures. The course covers the practical skills and knowledge required in understanding the importance of serving and storing food safely, the necessary measures for serving food to vulnerable persons and the safety requirements for commercial food operations.

This course will teach you:

  • Personal hygiene for staff members
  • Cleaning food preparation areas
  • Correct storage temperatures
  • Dealing with high-risk food
  • Prevention measures in kitchen pest control

Participate in safe food handling practices
SITXFSA006

5 hour course.

Delivery mode: Face to Face

This unit is one of two required to be a Food Safety Supervisor in the Hospitality sector.
Learn the practical skills and knowledge required to implement a food safety program, and how to identify and correct any possible food safety breaches including:

  • Handle food safely during storage, preparation, display, service and disposal phases
  • Follow predetermined procedures as outlined in a food safety program

Upon successful achievement, the learner will be able to locate and understand the food safety program, know how to identify and correct any food safety breaches, understand how to dispose of waste and contaminated goods safely, and maintain personal hygiene in a manner appropriate to the workplace. This includes knowing what to do, and what not to do, in the case of illness.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Completing an approved Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) program gives participants the skills and knowledge to work in a licensed premise in Victoria.
The RSA course covers a range of topics, including:

  • Liquor laws and selling, serving and supplying liquor responsibly
  • Intoxication, including assisting customers to drink within appropriate limits, assessing alcohol affected customers and refusing service
  • Undertaking ID checks on persons under the legal age for consumption
  • Reducing risks and harm strategies
  • Compliance and enforcement in licensed premise

Prepare and serve espresso coffee
SITHFAB025

8 hour course

Delivery mode: Face to Face

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial espresso machines and grinders.
It requires the ability to advise customers on coffee beverages, select and grind coffee beans, prepare and assess espresso coffee beverages and to use, maintain and clean espresso machines and grinders.
Complex repairs of equipment would be referred to specialist service technicians.
Must hold the prerequisite unit SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety before starting. Hands on learning and knowledge of coffee basics.

Chemicals Courses

AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases (Release 1)
AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals (Release 3)

2-day course, consecutive days (9am to 5pm)

Delivery mode: Face to Face

Students will learn the practical skills and knowledge to select, transport, store, record, mix and use chemicals used in the agricultural and horticultural sectors.
Completion of this course will lead to participants applying for their Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP).
